I would guess that was what the FA was doing.
I was flying AA and after the pilot indicated that we would be making our decent, the First Class Flight Attendant came around with a tray of plastic cups and offered to exchange the glassware for plastic so that we could keep our drinks and not have to chug them.

I had never seen that before and though that was actually a pretty good idea.
