I should add that I only have 1 TYP generating card - Preferred (previously downgraded from Premier). From reading the thread, seems like I need to get the Prestige first and then downgrade Preferred > AM in order to preserve by current TYP points. So, AM will only work if I pair it with another TYP card (and since I don't have another, getting the prestige is my only option).
You need a different card in conjunction with att+ to utilize transfer partners. If preferred can transfer to air partners, you should get a AA citi card, get the bonus, and then at some point in time convert to att+ card. Prestige is not your only option, but that would work too.
