The La Peer has opened since my OP; suspect that will be more aligned with your expectations for SoCal.
Since you are not Spire Inner Circle, you didn't get all the extra benefits that are carved out for that tier (although you got more than I would have expected for a Plat and the most important one, which was a room upgrade).
