I booked Air Canada/Lufthansa trip with United miles for 4 people from US to Russia (World Cup). It appears that reservation is missing my daughter's middle name. Called United, they said I should cancel the tickets, pay $75 per ticket to re-deposit the miles and hope that maybe these tickets will eventually return to availability bucket. Lufthansa (1-800 number) said they will not let her board the plane. I searched other threads on this topic and as recently as February of 2018 people were saying middle name was not necessary on the ticket. I don't know how carrier specific this assertion is. Does anyone have recent experience with Lufthansa and Air Canada with their middle name missing from the ticket? Thanks!
