Differing YQ and YR on Redemption Ticket
Hello,
I have a question to check, but maybe because i am inexperience.
I booked a flight from CPT-ADD-FRA-BKK on krisflyer miles (first two segment on Ethiopian and last one on thai). The YR charged by Ethiopian Airlines and passed on by Krisflyer are significantly higher than 1) I paid for a cash ticket, 2) I split the award into two separate award (CPT-ADD-FRA and FRA-BKK).
All the other airport fees and surcharges, including those charged by thai airways, are exactly the same, except this YR. Called Krisflyer but the customer service officer does not seemed to understand the problem, and told me, well, you either pay more miles for option 2, or you just pay the YR as charged, which does not really answer my question on why YR charged by Krisflyer on Ethiopian Airlines is significantly higher than option 1 and 2. Is it common? or there is a case of overcharging by Singapore Airlines?
From my limited understanding, YQ or YR should be the same as the normal cash ticket?
