I live near Vancouver and have stayed at both the Fairmont Pacific Rim and the Rosewood. I prefer the Fairmont Pacific Rim because I love to watch the sea planes come and go all day. Be sure to stay in a Harbour view room. The Rosewood lobby and bars are a lot darker than the public areas of the Pacific Rim. The hotel car at Pacific Rim can get you to some great restaurants in the Yaletown area. Blue Water Cafe and Ciopinno’s Medeterranean Grill are good in my experience.
