I am traveling on two separate tickets (mongolian and thai). I entered my details into the timatic website, and it says that transiting without a visa is possible for holders of confirmed onward airline tickets for a max. transit time of 24 hours. They must have a passport or a passport replacing document valid for a minimum of 3 months from the arrival date."
I guess I'm worried about the fact that I would need to re-check my luggage. I have not been to Beijing before, and have no idea of how long this would take and whether I'd have to leave the international transit area.

I am on different tickets, but didn't think that a four hour transit might not be enough (unless the incoming flight was delayed, of course). It would be my first time at Beijing airport, and I don't really have much of an idea of how it performs in terms of timeliness.

Hopefully not. I checked the government website, and Bangladesh is not on the list.
