I think if anyone got the SEA-GRR $58 fare, they could probably come in close to 100% taxes.

You're right on the taxes.

I was calculating percentage of the total, however your method is better, as taxes are almost always calculated as a percentage of the subtotal. It is amazing to me just how much taxes can add.
