To complete the data point -- I booked the trip on RJ.com during their 55th anniversary sale for 2 adults & 1 child and entered the BA numbers at booking and never altered them. Our BA numbers appeared on all boarding passes but we never got credit for the flights. My family laughed when during the trip I collected all boarding passes but I had read on FT that crediting tier points and avios could be an issue with RJ.

When tier points/ avios did not appear -- I waited a month and emailed scans of the boarding passes & itinerary to BA. It took approximately 3 weeks for our tier point/ avios to appear.

All the information I read about RJ on FlyerTalk was helpful -- from the flash sale; the need to physically show credit card used for payment at LHR (at check in I was sent to a special desk); to the not very nice transit hotel RJ use in case of IRROPS; to not getting credited for flights taken. All in all lurking on FT has been very useful and my child is very happy that because of the way tier point years fall -- he may be Gold and have to guest me into the First Lounge while I will be silver.
