First, the ticket number mismatch should be rectified. That is best dealt with through the issuing carrier and possibly with the onwards carrier on a three-way call. Waiting for check-in at JFK on a tight schedule is asking for problems.).
You are correct, the real issue was having two separate PNR’s. I booked the entire trip through Delta and wasn’t aware they put it on two records until I saw the confirmations. I would have been ok with having two records, but was never told by Delta that they would be unable to check me in.
I’m not sure there is a record mismatch. I suspect that CE wants to validate my passport and visa prior to checking me and issuing a boarding pass. Since there isn’t a CE flight from ATL I have to do this at JFK.
I have spoke with CE and they do confirm my reservation.
Hopefully I’ll get checked in shortly.
