Have you checked Expertflyer to see if you are currently blocked or not? BACF does not sell every CE seat it can sell. Now certainly J0 and Y3 is indicative of a full flight it certainly isn't guaranteed. Some LCY services have a 25% no show rate. [By coincidence I cancelled a 2F seat yesterday to EDI, the seat remains empty and it's J0 Y3)

I must admit I struggle with the rest of your argument since I guess you were aware of the CE service provision from LCY when you booked. It's not compulsory to travel in CE, some of us like the product, but it's not for everyone. Why pay extra for something you don't like? (OK, you do like 2F but then - oh never mind, it's ok to have grumble on FT). The LH seating is a fair point but in theory you would have paid more for your flight (in reality LH are sometimes cheaper if bought well in advance, BA are generally cheaper over the short to medium timeframe), or not even got on at all if it's a busy service. Moreover you could pay for the "comfort seat" if you actually were prepared to pay more.

BA's CE product matches other business class products on Embraers out of LCY, such as TAP. Well, except TAP don't provide hot food in their Embraers, they took out the oven on most of their fleet. I must admit the 2-1 / 1-2 seating idea sounds a good compromise, but usually TS works very well on BACF since it is applied to all CE customers including non status ones.
