What is your experience with Marriott hotel in this situation? When I booked my hotel, I have an elite status that allows me with room upgrade and lounge access. Such elite recognition is also noted on the hotel confirmation.
Then, let's say I'm downgraded to a level that I don't have lounge access etc. when I check in. Will the hotel recognize my previous elite status benefit?
I know my friend who stay at Hilton mentioned that they recognize your status on the date you book the hotel, so they still honor it.
