N766SW (the one that landed in Mississippi) and N772SW (the one involved in today's incident) are only numbers apart, don't know if that is a coincidence or if there is a pattern.
I'm would be fairly certain both planes have had a few different engines hanging on them since they were delivered. Engines are swapped somewhat regularly, and the engines that originally came on 772 can end up on another plane. It's not like your car where the engine in it usually comes from the factory.
In any event, RIP to the passenger. What a terrible tragedy. This was an excellent job by the five crew who most certainly had their hands full with a very difficult situation.
