After many years of loyalty to get to LTP with 750+ nights this feels like a kick in the teeth and will almost certainly change my staying patterns if not resolved. I also put quite a bit of efforts and $$ logging in 750+ nights with SPG and 11 years of SPG PLT. From what I know Marriott was giving their Gold status left and right and sometimes Platinum especially to corporate travelers. This was making accumulation of Marriott points easier. I think grandfathering Marriott LT Platinum into Life Time Platinum Elite and not not providing path to that for the most loyal SPG customers is plain wrong. If that is indeed the case it will tell me a lot about Marriott and what to expect in the future.
I will be then simply shifting my stays to Hilton where I am Diamond for 12 years but still short of 1,000 nights for the lifetime status.
