At the risk of being hammered for cross-posting, I think that it is worth mentioning here that yesterday on the Travel Bidding forum Randy made the following proposal,
"...I do have a question for many of you. FlyerTalk experiences a huge following and grows daily, nearing the 3,000,000 post mark. While I'm no expert on this bidding thing, if there is enough interest and support, what would be your thoughts on FlyerTalk launching a bidding information Web site. We could certainly harness the traffic we get as well as expand when and when necessary. This way, you can continue to enjoy your current - and i'm only hoping here.... - happiness with FlyerTalk with a new venue of information to share. You need to look no farther than Mileage Run to see how a sub-site can have some success within FlyerTalk. The Iceland thread was visiting by more than 110,000 people in one months time and i would think that many of the same crowd that loves to look in on airfare deals such as that would love to add and take away from the information about bidding for travel values.
Honestly, I would not want to take away from the members who post elsewhere, but introdcuing such a forum here may be far easier than trying to moderate the comments as noted above.
Thoughts anyone?"
The entire thread can be seen at
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...6&page=1&pp=40 , Randy's comments were in post #30
I cross-posted this because I think that otherwise that thread may slip thru the cracks and not be noticed by many FTers who may otherwise be interested in it, I know that for close to 3 years I was an almost daily user of FT before I was made aware that "Travel Bidding" was a formal forum - and the only reason that I noticed at all was because of a cross-post on the AA forum by another user. Only then did I learn of mileage earning opportunities available to Priceline users like the recent promo where people are earning 1500+ AA miles per Priceline purchase.
