DFW and MIA are the only two AA USA airports one can check baggage as ITI. At PHX, it’s thd usual immigration, retrieve bags, process them through customs, recheck them in - a final opportunity to verify they’re still properly tagged. This procedure is the same for single or multiple tickets, fortunately for those on multi ticketing.
