Thanks - strange since everywhere else I've stayed in Japan (well, mostly Tokyo) wifi has been good even in cheap places. I wonder if it is their provider if even the portable wifi is unstable or the island location?
That's what I thought, but since I'd read various descriptions for public onsen wasn't sure if it was the same in a hotel. And yes, thanks, I did know men and women are separate
