Hi all,

For a while I used AAA's website to book Hertz car rental and every time my PC status was correctly recognized. Today I tried something different; I booked a (D) Full-size/SCAR at SFO through Chase Ultimate Rewards portal since I could use my UR points at 1.5 cpp.

There was an blank to fill in car rental loyalty program in UR's check-out page and so I did. However, nowhere does the rental confirmation page (neither Hertz's or Chase's) recognize my status. Additionally, Hertz's confirmation number does not end with "GOLD", so I guess the status information was not properly recognized.

So does it mean

(1) I wouldn't be able to skip the line and head straight to PC's aisle?
(2) I wouldn't even be entitled to Ultimate Choice at all, even if I ask the agent to manually add my Hertz Gold Plus #?

I did some search and found with National rentals booked through Chase points you could do both (1). Hertz, by contrast, appears to be less lenient and basically won't recognize status when booked through OTAs (2). Is Chase UR portal considered a "OTA" and treated the same way?

My rental is in two weeks so eventually we can wait and see what turns out to be the case. But before that your experiences and comments are much appreciated!
