Was the address on your passport Indian or a US address (if you renewed it at an Indian consulate in the US)? Were you given an opportunity to indicate your current address is in the US during your police verification or passport office visit in India?

It seems my application is stuck in the long route along with a majority of the people, even though I am in the US on H1B. I am trying to find out whether there is something different I could have done when I applied.
