Don't hang yourself over it. AIUI, you'll be Silver until 2020, and most people who haven't been bitten by the status bug would be chuffed with it.
If you hit 900-1000 and cannot see the other 500, just walk away - you saved yourself at the very least £1000 ++. If you don't fly a lot, that £1000 bought you a shiny tag and little else.
We have to be honest about these programmes. They are to benefit the airline, not you.
