So, after a trip in Virgin Atlantic Upper Class headed over, I wasn't really looking forward to nine hours in economy. On the plus side, I was looking forward to a direct flight and arriving into the extremely efficient customs/immigration area at MSP. After years of following this thread, I followed everyone's advice to get the salad they offer for a main course on the TATL flights. I was only disappointed in that the dressing promised on the menu was not the dressing that I was served. A snack box was offered in the middle of the flight (not pictured) with cheese and crackers and candy of various sorts, and then a pretty decent turkey croissant with ice cream was served shortly before landing.
Entree: Chicken "Caeser" salad .
Side: Fruit salad, cheese and crackers, pretzel roll
Dessert: Black forest mousse cake
Drink: Prosecco, then white wine

The verdict: Aside from being served ranch dressing, instead of the promised caesar, those salads are definitely the way to go on Delta economy TATL. I was in the last row of Comfort+ and got the last salad in the cart for our aisle. The person across the aisle from me got the last one from the cart on the other side of the plane. So they go fast! All the rest of the meal accompaniments were fine. The pretzel roll was like every other Delta economy pretzel roll I've had over the years. The fruit salad was ... fine. The cake was disappointing. So, other than the salad being good, the highlight of the food might have been the turkey and cheese croissant, plus ice cream bar in the pre-arrival snack. Service was good and attentive. Much fun as it was in Upper Class going over, I'm reasonably certain I'll be back in economy many, many more times.
