For me that's usually pretty crappy timing.

I typically wrap up my last day early evening, so prefer an evening flight/red eye leaving CA.

With that not being an option, that means I'd have to spend another night in CA and then wake up at balls o'clock for a flight from SJC, all to save maybe 45 minutes travel time to SFO.
