I have a paid restricted business class fare LAX-LIM coming up. I have the day flight. I am now free to depart the night before. Have little experience with LATAM. With Cathay I rarely have a problem switching the same route if same class is available for a nominal flight change fee. When I asked the Travel Agent I was informed the change would amount to thousands of dollars. (Basically reissue the ticket, so change fee plus exhorbitant $9K+ RT Flight)

Any one knows if LATAM allows standby (not same day since the prior night’s flight is before midnight)? Any other change method at a reasonable charge (a few hundred not thousands)? Ironically, my booked cabin is virtually sold out while the flight the night before is widely available, would benefit them. I do not have LATAM status, but have One World Emerald, should it matter
