Just to clarify, this hotel is not on the beach. You will need to cross over a busy 4 lane road to get to the beach and then walk down one of the street that have access to the beach. Dewey can get a bit crazy/rowdy with college kids so if you go with this alternative I would not go during a college break or on a weekend in the summer.
