Have speant years in the Far East and have tried most luxury products - Regent, Four Seasons, Aman Resorts, Grand Hyatt, Oriental, and Shangri-La. All properties vary by city. For example, in Shanghai its the Grand Hyatt and in Bangkok it's the Oriental.

In Singapore, I highly recommend the Shangri-La. It has a great location (walking distance to Orchard Road), 20 hectacres of park like grounds, fabulous pool, excellent restaurants (Chinese, Japanese, Californian, Casual) and sensational rooms. I recommend the Valley Wing which has just been fully renovated. They have a Club Level Program at the Valley Wing which can't be beat. Unlimited food and drink non-stop. And the rates can't be beat.

As someone who has stayed at more than 15 Four Seasons and Regent's throughout the world, the number 1 property in Singapore is the SHANGRI-LA.
