Asian airport screeners use physical pat downs vs. US screeners who don't ??
Flew to Asia visiting 3 countries, I have found something interesting:
US TSA screening = body scanner or metal detector - without any physical touching.
Asian screening = metal detector w/ physical pat down.
We went thru: ICN, HND, GMP and XMN - all these airports used a metal detector, hand held wand scanner, and a physical pat down.
Is it usual for Asian airports to physically pat down every pax ???
Is this because they don't have the fancy body scanners like we have in the US ?
Also, at the XMN airport they seemed to be looking for explosives or similar material as we were constantly being rubbed with a small paper strip when entering the airport, waiting a minute while they scanned the strip, and then let into the airport.
Anyone ??
