More seriously, it's probably just a typical case of inconsistent treatment of Platinum members. That would fit with only sometimes receiving drinks vouchers, chocolate bars and/or petit fours. I can't rule out a language problem, though, and will listen more carefully next time we check in. It's possible that front desk are saying "You're entitled to complimentary breakfast in the restaurant" and I'm just hearing "Breakfast is served in the restaurant from XX.00 to YY:00".
