The thing with that logic is that I have three first names and no middle name. So I give the first given name and the last name and I have never had a problem. Or should I view it that I have two middle names? I thought the "middle name" referred to a second surname, of the type that you get very commonly with Spanish names. How they deal with this, as well as all the paperwork for the US, I just do not know.

Up until a few years ago I used my third forename on ticket and hotel documentation everywhere, without any issues, leaving out the first two names. This is the forename I always use anyway. However, the American system now dictates to us that we have to write our first name on the ticket and ESTA exactly as it appears on the passport. Fair enough, that makes sense actually, so over a period of months I changed all my frequent flyer and hotel accounts to reflect the first written forename and no longer used my third forename.

And now this. So does this mean I have to write all my names?? There usually isn't enough space to do so, most booking systems only allow for so many letters. Back when the world was a freer place this was so much easier.
