I had to deal with delayed luggage before and in all cases when i submitted the report i had full information and details where my bag was and when it will be delivered. LATAM was clueless from the time i did not get my bag until now. for example see the update i got from them today:

Yes I should have planned better and probably had my hiking stuff in my carry on. However in my many years of frequent traveling i was not anticipating this fiasco, and BTW it was not only me - after talking to other travelers at the airport it seems this is a VERY frequent occurrence on LATAM at Lima and Cusco - and you can find many relevant threads in this forum as well.
Shame on LATAM for their practices and no i do not think i will be flying them any time soon and I want to warn you all to not trust your luggage with them
