Yeah, they could, but even then, counter service at Bistros is amazingly slow, so even if it was self-serve with a voucher, it would still take five minutes. You can't have a true grab-and-go like at SPH and FI since either not everyone (presumably) would get the 'free continental".
I think the best guess, assuming Courtyards go to free breakfast, is to keep the Bistro but only have it open in the evenings to sell booze. In the morning, it would be the staging area for a SPH/FI/RI breakfast that would probably be free for all. This would be fine with me, assuming there is space for it. It can be tough at some SPH/FI/RIs where the counter space is spread out, or the waffle maker is jammed into a corner.
I've never successfully spent a night at a Townplace to have their breakfast, but from what I've seen at attempted check-ins, the breakfast area is far smaller than a FI/SPH. Don't they have an even more limited menu of just packaged stuff with nothing hot? Even that would be a step up from nothing.
