I would venture to guess that the vast majority of people wouldn't want to be in the last row and would see a seat close to the front as much more desirable. I can totally see GAs seeing a diamond in the last row and thinking that they would prefer to sit further forward (and I suspect the vast majority would prefer to sit further forward. I have no proof of this, but just my suspicion based on experience).
