Las time I used the 24h/144h visa-free line, I waited more than 2 hours. The process was painfully overcomplicated, disorganized and they were understaffed. Moreover, everyone with a "short" connection of under 3 hours passed all other travelers creating a lot of frustration.

I totally agree PVG should be avoided at all cost for transfers.
