​​​​​​Since you're new to hotel points, you presumably didn't know that Hilton has had online check-in for years. In fact, it might be the first chain to have offered that, I'm not sure.

But app or online check-in doesn't mean you don't have to arrive, it just lessens the number of steps you have to go through when you arrive.
