You're wrong. dr_torch's calculation is essentially correct. I built a calculator spreadsheet (with help from some others) for exactly this purpose:

Just use it (or the version Jack linked to earlier) and you'll know within a very small margin what the AQD will be for each segment.
This has worked just fine for me on plenty of non-AC-stock tickets, including those involving several carriers (e.g. AC, UA, CM and AV).
Hmm... interesting. I used your / Jack's calculator (made a
copy) earlier and got an answer of US$869.42 (using the 'Airfare' from my
UA receipt as the base fare).
But both AC and UA agents quoted me US$747.50 as the base fare for those AC segments.
I will report back after the trip with the actual AQD credit I receive.
