UA Policy for Involuntary Schedule Change Involving Codeshare Segments
Hello UA Forum,
I am booked on SFO-YYC-FRA-BEG in Business with the YYC-FRA segment operated by AC and the FRA-BEG segment operated by LH.
Received an e-mail notification advising that the SFO-YYC segment, operated by UA, is now leaving 1.5 hours earlier than previously scheduled, resulting in a conflict for me.
Called United to change my itinerary to SFO-YYZ-FRA-BEG, which would accommodate my schedule. United is refusing to waive the fare difference in this case because SFO-YYZ is operated by AC. (They are only agreeing to waive the change fee.) FWIW, both the original YYC-FRA and the new SFO-YYZ and YYZ-FRA segments are all available as UA-marketed / AC-operated codeshare flights.
Is this reasonable or should I try HUCA?
Many thanks in advance for any input.
