Personally, I would check a bag more often if, like for all my US domestic flights with Delta, the bags were constantly arriving before or within 5min at the belt.
The Delta '20 minutes from the plane door opening to bags on carousel or 2500 miles' domestic bag policy is nice too. I've had more than one occasion where a bag getting its exiting onto the belt scan at the 22-23 minute mark generated more redeemable miles than I got on a moderately priced flight itself.
