Passenger Fell on Top of Sleeping Lady
A bizarre incident on our flight yesterday. We travelled in First back to LHR. We were in a group of four - wife and two children and had row 4. My wife was in one of the middle seats. About two hours into the flight she was sleeping with the seat in the bed position when a man stumbled and fell and ended up full length on top her. This came as a shock because she was sleeping and he quickly got off her and then stumbled backwards into the aisle. It seemed to be caused by too much drink because prior to that he'd been loud and quite demanding of the crew. One of the crew was on hand to see it happen and put him back in his seat.
He made no attempt at an apology and was quite agitated but wasn’t talking in English so we couldn’t tell what he was saying. The crew had a quiet word with his friend who was speaking English to calm him down.
I’m not suggesting this was anything other than an accident as a result of too much alcohol and it wasn’t sexually motivated. However, it did leave my wife and children quite upset and spoiled what was an otherwise good flight.
My only issue was that the crew seemed to tolerate too much from him. I assume because he was a status passenger flying in 1A.
