Always directly through the airline (LOT, in this particular case). That said, I only have this issue when flying LO/OU, ‘mixed’ tickets LO/OS (WAW-VIE-SJJ), for instance, do not cause any sort of problems. Oh, and the other issue LO/OU is that the FTV number would only appear on the first boarding card and, once in ZAG, there’s no one at sight who could amend this (the staff at the transfer desk wouldn’t have a clue as they are not employed by the airline, I suspect they are merely an information desk). Access to the lounge comes at no trouble, though — and they don’t even need to see the actual card as they would just scan the QR code on my SK’s EBD through Apple Wallet.

First world problems in any case I guess!
