This is the best W I’ve visited so far. I’m not a W fan but did enjoy my stay. Service level is much better than general W service.

Design and hard product is beautiful and very well maintained.

Restaurants on site are good although Carve sushi bar suffers from service issues. Food (including sushi bar) is good to outstanding. Unfortunately Arola’s tapas bar closed on April 1.

Local restaurants: Al Capone (for pizza and simple authentic food). Chez Dany is still great (right on the slope) for lunch or also for dinner (hike or ask snowscooter service).

We had booked 2 spectacular rooms and 1 was upgraded to fabulous suite using SNA’s. Hotel was full though in the end so I guess luck was on my side.

Plat benefits do include free bottled water from the minibar and upgraded internet. Kindly note that late check-out is not a guaranteed benefit here (resort).

Overall a really nice stay.

Thanks- I only just now saw your question. It will be May- so not quite ski season, not quite summer.

We had planned on trying Chez Dany. Do you know if we will need advance reservations?

This is our first ever trip to Switzerland. We will be staying in St. Moritz and Zermatt before Verbier (and traveling on the Glacier Express) (before last stop Geneva)
We will be coming off 9 days in Austria (Vienna & Salzburg) so in Verbier we just plan to relax and enjoy the scenery.

It's funny because we are big fans of St. Regis and Luxury Collection, my initial reflex would be to say we are not W people and yet we have had nothing but wonderful stays at almost of of the W's we have tried. (the exception was our own W San Diego which was thankfully put out of its misery) At most W's we find the staff to be enthusiastic and friendly and we almost always have a fun time. I spent my birthday at the W Austin a few months ago and we loved it.

To guarantee we have a room we are happy with used points for a suite so we can't apply SNAs. (but if the hotel wants to upgrade us further during slow season we will take it

Thanks for your feedback. So far we have heard nothing but good things about this W.
