Just spent three days there. The staff was phenomenal from minute 1 at the resort. Especially the bartender by the pool

. Food was average. After that it was not so good. The beach was all but nonexistent plus on the first day there seemed to be a significant issue with the water quality - maybe an oil spill? Throughout the entire stay when you were in the pool near the beach end or the chairs facing the beach there was a rotten sea odor from decaying sea life. I never saw the pier being used. Don't hesitate to ask for the mosquito spray as they are horrendous. Speaking of mosquitoes, I can stand the fact that they can't be controlled outside but in my room? The plunge pool, toilet, and shower are "outside" sealed with mesh. However that was no deterrent to them. Plus there were plenty in the air-conditioned bedroom! Through the guest grapevine we heard that you can ask to have your room sprayed and that did help a little. The room also has a lounge room that is not air-conditioned - ceiling fan only.
As a Plat, you get free breakfast and 1 drink at the Latitude bar from a special menu.
I would not recommend this hotel at all if you are looking for a beach resort. The pool is fine (whirlpool was broken with no indication of being repaired anytime soon). Normally when I stay at a resort where I am given a room with a private pool, I'm a very happy camper - here not so much. Prior to staying at the LMKS we stayed at The Library and found it to be significantly better on all fronts.
A plug for Saffron restaurant at the Banyan Tree one of the better meals I have had in Thailand.
