I would have to chuckle if they said that to me. Unless the T2 lounge has been overhauled recently, the new T1 lounge is night and day better than T2. I remember that old T2 lounge from my Northwest flying days, it hasn't changed since (as of my last transit in TPE). It was literally a zoo of people in a cramped lougne fighting for cup ramen and some other light snacks they had as opposed to the full buffet at T1.
