I am old fashioned- I do not have a cellular/mobile phone. I do not rely on personal communication devices - eg I do not own tablets, laptops, ipads etc. So I could not care less for skype. It is not the money per se - but the convenience of dialing toll-free much more easily that long distance direct dialing.
Right now, Qantas flies to USA but not to Canada - but it has the same toll-free number for both countries (of course, you will then tell me that Qantas has on occasion flown to Canada before -you will tell me that Jetstar has never flown to Canada). And of course, Canadians may want to fly on that/those Jetstar flights between USA and Australia.
I am not really interested in speaking to the regular customer service agent for Jetstar - I can guarantee that I will not get any further than I did with the Jetstar agent during the chat.
I am interested in speaking to someone at Jetstar who is a member of the team of executive customer service agents as the first option. The second option would be some high up person at Qantas with responsibility overseeing Jetstar.
If anyone knows of this person, I would appreciate a private mail on this person's name and contact information.
PS-I would be more than happy to forego the $50 voucher, if I get a full refund on my ticket.
