I would like to thank everyone for their timely, concise and informative responses. They are appreciated; albeit I will hit the road tomorrow and will not be able to post again until next weekend (it is best not to use dem gubment laptops for personal e-mail).

More to the point, it appears that the HP clubs are very nice. However, it is true that HP's financial footing is not the most stable in the world, and one never knows what the future holds for the airline, partner airlines or my travel requirements, either.

The one year membership sounds quite appealing, although it is notable that a lifetime membership would be the most cost-effective for one of my tender years. Well, maybe not so tender. I will probably purchase a one year membership just to see what it is like.

Again, thank you to everyone for your responses. The number and quality of the responses was quite high for this venue. The Am West board does not generate nearly the number of postings of other airlines.
