What I've done before is:
1) Check in at T2
2) Take the Skytrain from T2 to T1
3) Clear security and FIS in T1 (they don't care)
4) Go to the T1 lounge (they'll be, like, "You know there's one closer to your gate, right?")
5) Walk to my gate
Very helpful. Was your check in at T2 because that's the only terminal where your airline's desks were? In our case, we will have our onward boarding passes already (originating in DPS the afternoon before). So if I skip to #3 , clear security and FIS in T1, sounds like I can head straight there after returning from the city.
