I wonder if you can help me, i'm having a bit of a mare.

Note: UK Amex Platinum...

First question:
I had Hertz Presidents Circle status before I got my Amex Platinum. I want to 'link' the accounts for the 'benefits' but it asks me to create a new account. I contacted Hertz and they said everything is already done but I am not so sure...I feel there is a misunderstanding.

Second question:
At the end of July I will be hiring a car for a weekend in Italy. I want to get the free additional driver so my other half can drive aswell. How do I go about arranging this?
- Do I need to book a special rate?
- Do I need to book through Amex?
- Do I need to book through Hertz?
