I just returned. I confirm there were signs warning of possible sea urchins. There were no visible shoes to borrow but we brought our own. However from 27-31 March we went in the sea daily and did not use shoes nor see any. Just clean, clear, calm waters and soft, clean sand. So I guess it is not a constant.
