Not printing connecting boarding pass
So this was a first for me, but I had an itinerary CVG-ORD-DUB with 78 minutes scheduled to stop in ORD.
At CVG, the connecting boarding pass would not print. Only this, "Our system was not able to process the boarding pass for your connecting flight at this time. You may need to contact the operating airline at the connection city for your boarding pass".
So I raced to T5 to get Aer Lingus to print my boarding pass and of course check-in closes 1 hour before the flight which gave me a whole 18 minutes to taxi, get out of the plane, and get to the desk.
Is this common practice? I have never had this onward boarding pass not print in the originating city before? Obviously 78 minutes is a legal, ok connecting time for international flights at ORD...if I was able to go to the gate! 18 minutes was not ok to get anywhere, much less get a required boarding pass plus get to gate.
Who can I get reparations from for having to stay in Chicago an extra night and the 3 re-routes and lost luggage that came as a result of this? I will spare the extra details, but we lost 2 nights of hotel in Belfast, paid extra to overnight in Chicago, 4 days of clothes had to be purchased, and maybe a few other smaller things.
