I got bumped to the front once about 4 years ago. EWR->PVG, 14 hour haul, so that was great. I was only Silver or Gold at the time and was really surprised it happend. I had already settled in my Y seat when a large group came pouring in: looked like a Chinese Youth orchestra.FA came to me and asked: would you like to sit in seat 4? Best greeting ever !
