Any compensation for air conditioning unit being out at Andaz Maui?

We are staying at the Andaz Maui. We are not the type of couple to jump all over any and every issue to get compensation for little things. But, we are here for a week. We are into day 3 and our air conditioning has not worked the entire time. We were told that it's the wiring as engineering has already changed the panel once and that did nothing. The air conditioner was saying "door" so we assumed it was a sensor or something at first but nope. They are going to have to open up the wall to get to the wiring and want us to be out of the room for awhile in order to get into the hard wired system (apparently it used to be wireless according to the engineer). We complained as soon as we noticed the problem, but have not been moved. It's a good thing DH packed a fan because it's HOT!!!! Today, I needed to do some work in the room and I'm sweating in crevices I didn't know I had. Of course, had maintenance needed to get in to fix the system, I would have left but no one has come in to look. Could we reasonably ask for compensation? If so, what do you presume that would look like? I am not used to asking for compensation for things like this so I wondered how I should approach this? If it's a full house and there's nowhere to move us, what do we do? Since this is an open air hotel, there's really nowhere to go to escape the heat when we need to. Thanks!
