The price difference is about 30 percent less in Hong Kong than Europe most of this is the tax, I have never had a problem with customs but their is always a first time.

The price difference is not only the VAT, though also the significantly better consumer protection in the EU.
And, as already raised, when you walk through local EU customs with a Apple carton, you can expected to be asked about this. They will even search your luggage for receipts, complete acc. set, etc. Let alone the verification on serial number. And you would be nervous and these people notice that.
Added: And with Apple you will need that consumer protection.......
